Thomas Potgieter
Elder
Elder Thomas Potgieter was raised in a Christian home as a member of the Reformed Churches in South Africa where his family was part of building the local church. Some of his favorite childhood memories include cleaning the grout off the tiles on the sanctuary floor. He met his wife, Liana, at a student Bible study and they got married in 1999 in the same church. God led them to the United States in 2002 for the first time and then again in 2006 and they have been blessed to serve in Bible believing Reformed churches throughout their journey up and down the East Coast (New Hampshire, New Jersey, Virginia, and Pennsylvania). They joined Covenant in 2018. Thomas makes medicine to pay the bills, and enjoys spending time with the girls (two daughters, Brianna and Bella, wife Liana and two female dogs) and, when time permits, woodworking, gardening, and fishing.
