In our sermon text, the apostle John teaches that knowing the sacrificial love of God, which was chiefly manifested in the giving of his Son, ought to result in Christians laying down their lives for one another. Consequently, living in this way testifies to Christians themselves that they are of the truth. Lord willing, we will turn our attention to this dynamic in our sermon.
