After a long period of submission and suffering, David was finally exalted by God as the king of all Israel. It was a gift of grace to be used in the service of others. David’s divine Son would be exalted to a position of far greater honor after far greater suffering on the cross. As believers in Jesus Christ, we, too, have been exalted by grace to serve others in humility as we proclaim the glories of our triumphant King.
