To many of us at first glance, God’s summary execution of Uzzah for attempting to prevent the ark from falling to the ground seems disproportional at best, if not harsh and unforgiving at worst. But God disciplines those He loves and chastens everyone He accepts as a son or daughter in Christ so that we might grow in both reverence and joy before His infinite holiness.
