In recent decades, many non-Christians and even some professing Christians have said that they are not “religious” but are still “spiritual”—meaning that their faith is something internal and private. But in our sermon text, we are reminded that truly spiritual people are part of a church family whose members outwardly serve one another, in acknowledgement of and dependence on who God is and what he has done for us, in Christ, by his Spirit.
