The Old Testament is full of fascinating stories, but because we belong to a different time and place, we may think that God has only given us these stories as positive examples to follow or negative examples to avoid. But in this week’s passage, Paul explains that the story of Abraham’s sons can be our story too. Even though we are born as slaves of sin, we can become children of Abraham, and heirs of God’s promise to him, if we are in a relationship, by faith, with Jesus, the ultimate Son of Abraham.
