Peter WellsJanuary 26, 2025Passage: Isaiah 2:1-5
After issuing a strong rebuke to Judah and Jerusalem, and prophesying their coming judgement, Isaiah describes a grand vision of the future. The people had rejected God, His word, and His rule, but Isaiah calls them back to faithfulness, to walk in the light of the Lord. Although judgement is coming to the nation, Isaiah’s vision shows that God has a glorious future for his people. Like sinful Judah, we often diminish God’s supremacy, ignore His word, deny His rule, and we need to be called back to God, to walk in His light. Then we too can share in the hope of this vision which God is still unfolding in history.
