Some stains will only come clean with the right cleansing agent, and the same is true of our souls. No amount of human effort can cleanse a heart corrupted by sin; only the blood of Jesus will avail. Mere hours before His crucifixion, Jesus powerfully demonstrated the love that would send Him to the cross to cleanse His people from their sins. It is a transforming cleansing that empowers us to love others the way we have been loved, pointing them to the Savior who can cleanse them the way we have been cleansed.
