A long-standing military tactic is to target an enemy’s leadership. The attacks of the evil one against the Church of Jesus Christ are no exception. Whether by overt attacks or more subtle means, the devil seeks to subvert elders as a means of crippling Christ’s Church. But God is fully aware of Satan’s tactics and has provided clear guidance to protect both His elders and His people. Through faith in the Savior who was denied honor, falsely accused, and unfairly judged, He preserves and uses His servants for His glory.
