The office of deacon is one of service and mercy that is entrusted to certain men of God’s choosing for the welfare of His people. But the attitude of deacon is commended to all believers who have received the grace of Christ. By reflecting the likeness of Jesus, the Servant of Servants, deacons point us all to the Savior who did not come to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
