Atonement is not just a theological term or abstract concept. It lies at the very heart of our salvation, granting us the forgiveness of sins, peace with God, and an eternal hope that transcends even the worst misery of this world. David experienced the grace of atonement and so may we through faith in his greater Son, Jesus Christ.
